Mysore and Surrounds: Mysore was the capital of the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. The city is dotted with grand palaces, art galleries, universities and sculptures, in a quirky blend of British and Indian architectural styles.
Half an hour's drive from Mysore is the lovely little town of Srirangapatna. It’s a pilgrimage site with a beautiful medieval temple to Lord Vishnu. It was the fortified capital of Tipu Sultan, the famous “Tiger of Mysore”, whose dramatic battles against the British are the stuff of legends.
Watered by the sacred river Cauvery, the countryside around Mysore is lush and fertile. You can see some splendid Hoysala temples in the countryside, stop at the serene Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, or visit some peaceful villages.
We offer walks and day tours in Mysore, showcasing the city’s rich architecture and heritage. We also offer excursions to many interesting places around Mysore.
